Another 5 rink team from Winslow was welcomed to Chandos Park by Captain Norman. Once again we played 18 ends straight through as is the practice at Chandos.
This was probably the closest match I have been involved in with all 5 rinks having very close games.
The highest scoring triple scored 18 shots while the lowest scoring triple scored 14 shots. Probably more by chance than design, when the game ended Winslow had not lost on a single rink but only won by 6 shots.
For those interested the scores were 16:14, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15 & 18:17. As you can see every head to head went down to the last bowl of the rink – you can't get much closer than that!
We had 2 highest winning rinks this week, congratulations to Jeanie, Mike & John Gomersall and Roger P, Steve & Jef for winning by just 2 shots.
The rink of Rosie, John Jeacock & Len are certainly worthy of a special mention as they fought back from 1:13 down after 8 ends to win 18:17 by scoring a 3 on the last end.
