Away v Woburn Sands Sunday 16 July 2023
4 Mixed Triples travelled to play at Woburn Sands on Sunday.
We were welcomed by captain for the day Chris and the game got underway in very overcast conditions. As was the case in the Bucks Plate game the previous day the match was more affected by the wind than it was any rain.
As often seems to be the case Winslow had 2 winning and 2 losing Triples. On this occasion the winning Triples did not win by as many shots the losing Triples lost by so Winslow lost by 9 shots (55:64). Our highest winning rink was Diana, Sarah and Tony, well done to all of them.
On a personal note my Triple was involved in a crazy game. After 10 ends we were 16:2 down and we just couldn't catch a break. Then for reasons I cannot fathom the game turned on its head and we won 7 of the last 8 ends scoring 17 shots to 1 to win 19:17. It really was a game of 2 halves and well done to John Jenkins and Cliff for helping me to make it happen.
