On Sunday the 17th of September the last competition finals match was played.
Two teams, John Gilbey, Victor Griffiths & Terry Pomroy, and Cliff Geary, Randell Moll and Roger Piosek, having progressed through the knockout rounds to meet in the final.
The rain began to gently fall as the first bowl was played and increased in intensity until play was suspended after six ends. Twenty minutes later, after a cup of tea was consumed, the rain stopped and the game was completed. The match was keenly fought and the winners agreed that the contest could have gone either way, despite the comfortably looking 16-7.
