On the weekend of 2nd/3rd September we held our last finals matches and here are some

On Saturday 19th August we held our Offa Traphy competition which is for mixed triples.
The winners were Joan Poole, Fiona Reese and Norman Line
and the runners up were Rosie Griffiths, Victor Griffiths and John Gilbey
On Sunday 16th July we travelled by means of the Winslow Community Bus to High Wycombe to play Bassetsbury Manor Bowls Club in the quarter final of the Bucks Plate.
After a hard fought match we came up just short and lost out by a small number of shots overall but the match was played in a very friendly spirit and we wish Bassetsbury every success in the next round
The club has been honoured to host a group of pupils from Furzedown School for weekly sessions
over a period of 6 weeks and at the last session on Thursday 22nd June all the pupils were presented
with certificates from the club and medals from AVDC presented by the current chairman of AVDC Cllr. Sue Renshell

"Winslow Bowls Club continued their battle in the Men's Bucks Plate on Wednesday 14th June against Wing. Unfortunately Winslow ran out losers 64 shots to 79 despite sharing the game two wins apiece. Congratulations to Len Ward and Robin Galvin our two winning skips. Despite the loss Winslow remain at the top of the league on 38 points with all their games played. The completion of the league matches is on Wednesday 21st June, where we await results of the final two games".

"Winslow excel in Men's Bucks Plate
Winslow Bowls Club followed up their Men's Bucks Plate 60-59 win over Wingrave with an emphatic 80-50 win over Long Crendon on May 31st.
The winning skips at Wingrave were John Jeacock and John Gilbey and the winning skips at Long Crendon were John Jeacock, John Gilbey and Len Ward.
Winslow continued their good form with a 80-61 win over Cheddington on June 7th. The winning skips were John Jeacock, Len Ward and Sid Peach.
On June 3rd a mixed Winslow team travelled to Aston Clinton and enjoyed a 85-73 win in a friendly match.
We had a successful Open Day on May 27th, which included a visit from our overseas friends from the Winslow Anglo French Twinning Association.

On Saturday 27th May we held our Open Day and we were pleased to welcome a number of vistors from France who were in Winslow as part of the biennual exchange visit with Winslow's twin town of Cours-La-Ville
Alain was the winner of the Target Bowls Competition
Our third comeptiton of the season was held on Thursday 22nd June.
The winners of the Men's Triples were Norman Line, Wally Harwood and Sid Peach and the runners up were David Wells, David Midwinter and Dennis Dean. (Photo to follow)
The second competition of the season was completed on Thursday 1st June
when Dorothy Parrott and Jenny Dean won the Ladies Over 55's 2 woods.
The Runners Up were Daphne Birch and Pam Allen
We held our first club competition of the year on Friday 26th May.
The mixed triples was won by Rosie Griffiths, David Wells and John Gilbey
The Runners Up were Elizabeth Moll, Patrick Corcoran and John Gomersall
Congratulations to Victor Griffiths, Trish Thomas, John Gilbey and John Hancock who
scored a "hot shot" on August 27th.

The Club is situated in the centre of Winslow adjacent to the Public Hall.
In the summer the Club plays regular friendly, week-end and mid-week matches with other Clubs in the North Bucks area and also has a regular Thursday afternoon social bowling session. During the winter season the Club has a thriving Short Mat Section.
