As usual, the day began with a special competition for members of the Club, in the form of a 'Spoon Drive', which is an interactive competition organised so that members play with and against other members of the club.
8 teams of 3 players played 4 mini-matches of 5 ends. For each mini-match, teams were selected in advance and each team member was assigned a playing position. Different team members and different playing positions were assigned for the following mini-matches.
Each player recorded their team score and, after all matches were complete, totalled their individual scores.
Congratulations to the winner, Kay Kingston, and to Pete Joyner in second place and Roger Hayman in third place. The awards were presented by our President, Len Ward.
Our thanks to John Jeacock and all of those who helped in organising the competition.
We were prevented from playing the 4th mini-match by heavy rain but Pete Joyner had prepared a quiz to keep us entertained until the meal was ready. An excellent meal prepared by Robin Galvin, assisted by Valerie Gomersall, completed a great day.
Thanks to those who made the afternoon enjoyable for us all.
