We were blessed with fine, warm weather for this annual event.
30 members took part in the Club’s annual Offa Trophy, for nominated triples. There were accordingly 10 teams, who played mini-matches of four ends against each of five other randomly selected teams. Shots for and against were recorded by each team skip in the usual way. However the Offa scoring system is based on points awarded for match result: two points for a win, and one for a draw.
Two teams, team 3, of Mick Bigby, Roger Hayman and John Gomersall, and team 4, of Les Truett, Sheila Cadge and John Jeacock, each won four of their mini-matches to secure 8 points, but on the tie-breaker of shot difference team 3 were the winners with 12, while team 4 had only 6.

We all enjoyed refreshments in the clubhouse after the game. It was a good day, playing bowls with fellow members in a competitive and social atmosphere.
