Green Opening Day.
At the beginning of each season Members are invited to play for the first time in the new season. This often takes the form of a competition between the 'Presidents' team and the 'Captains' team.
This year, on the 13th April 2024, the 30 players who took part in this match enjoyed a friendly and competitive game in the fine spring weather. The Green was in excellent condition thanks to Victor Griffiths and his team of helpers President Len Ward's team were the winners today scoring a total of 44 points. Captain John Gilbey's team provided strong competition, scoring 33 points.
After the match in the clubhouse the trophy was presented by last year's winner John Gilbey to our President Len Ward.
The green is now open for roll ups. These will be at 6pm on Tuesday evenings with Tony Lawrence organising and 2pm on Thursdays under the guidance of Robin Galvin.
Our first club match against Bicester will take place on Saturday the 20th April.
Don't forget the annual Open Day event will take place on Saturday the 27th.
