As many residents of Winslow will know, the town is twinned with the French town of Cours. The Winslow Anglo-French Twinning Association (WAFTA) has been promoting Anglo-French relations since 1980 by encouraging and facilitating friendship between the people of Winslow and Cours. Winslow Bowls Club was pleased to host members of WAFTA and about 30 French visitors on Saturday 20th May. The WBC team demonstrated how we play the game and promote active participation in our sport. Most of the French guests tried the game, some for as much as two hours, and many commented favourably about the game and our green – some thought that the surface must be artificial, as such fine grass is virtually unknown in France.
