Happy Bank Holiday. Wing Village Bowls hosts the annual Spooner Trophy competition.
Cheddington Bowls Club and
Winslow Bowls Club visit
Wing Village Bowls to play for the honour of being awarded the trophy at the end of the day. The trophy is named after Mr Ray Spooner as he laid all three Club's greens. The trophy was presented by Mrs Spooner to Wing as the winning club.
Winslow once again finished third but did win 3 of the 11 end mini matches compared with only 1 last year. Our best rink was Sheila Cadge, Stan Hubert , John Thorogood and John Gilbey with an overall shots difference of plus 9 and a very convincing 20 to 2 shots win in their game against a Cheddington rink. Mike Jones played in his first competitive game for the club.
