Men’s Triples Saturday 31 st May 2025
On a glorious afternoon 15 of our members took part in the annual men’s triples competition. Five teams played 4 games against each other with each game consisting of 4 ends. Many of the games were very close and some excellent bowling was seen throughout the afternoon.
Three points were awarded for a win and one for a draw, this resulted in two teams finishing level on 8 points each having won 2 and drawn 2 games. With the game between these two teams ending in a draw the winners were decided on total shots scored during their 4 games.
The team of John Gilbey, John Thorogood and Pete Joyner were declared the winners having scored 21 shots compared to the team of Cliff Geary, Tony Lawrence and Roger Shelton who scored 18.
A very close result.
A enjoyable afternoon played in good friendly spirit and it was pleasing to see a few members coming along to support the players.
