On the 21st January nine members of the club participated in a 2-hour First Aid course run by Lucy Read from Daisy First Aid.
The course covered many aspects from the basics of First Aid to how to perform CPR, including
- A primary survey to establish if a casualty is conscious and breathing normally
- Managing bleeds
- Managing burns
- Recognising signs of a stroke
- Recognising signs of a heart attack
- The recovery position
- Hands on CPR
- Using an AED (automated external defibrillator)
