WBC would like more club members to take part in short mat bowls. There are about 15-20 club members who attend the Monday evening roll-up on a regular basis. Whilst all attendees will have the opportunity to play, 2 mats enable 12 players to practice, and not all can enjoy a full 2 hour practice session.

It is also possible that some members would prefer to play during the day rather than in the evenings. Therefore, we are evaluating whether an additional alternative to the Monday evening roll-up sessions worthwhile.

We held two afternoon sessions both Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd September. Unfortunately, the attendance was disappointing. We cannot take the plan for a Monday afternoon roll-up forward without a minimum of 10 or 12 who would play regularly, with at least 4 who could support set-up.

Therefore, before we make a final decision, one more trial session is planned for Monday 27th October from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Please make your views known, either by attending this last open session or communicating your interest, to me, John Thorogood (email or telephone 07802 246084) or to any other member of the committee.

We will not pursue this idea if there is no member support.

It’s really the ‘last chance opportunity’ to have an extra SM roll-up session.
