Last few days to have the green ready for our first match this season.
Today, 7th April, lovely weather but pretty hard work this morning. Mower cut reduced from 10mm to 6mm and now we are using the reverse groomer. We did a first cut, our contractor the verticut and then we did another cut.
We filled both the brown bins and multiple extra grass boxes, never done that before!
Did a little filling and seeding and three sided of the ditches were cleaned and the liner mats put down. Thanks to the small band of dedicated volunteers who have put in hours of work. My team today on the green, Alan, Mick and Steve. We are cutting again on Thursday with Alan and again for final preparation on Friday with Les. Lots of other tasks to do so everyone welcome. Rosie will get the changing rooms ready on Friday,
Calling all hands! - As we start the new season there will be even more for us to do on and around the Green and I hope to see as many of you as possible, an hour or so or your times is all that’s required.
