We travelled to one of our longest away games at Wendover. It was a very pleasant sunny warm afternoon and our match consisted of 5 triples. We played 9 ends and then stopped for tea and biscuits and after 18 ends we were provided with a drink from the bar and sandwiches and crisps.

We actually won on 3 of the 5 rinks but with winning scores of only plus 1, 4 and 8, whereas the 2 losing rinks were by 19 and 21 shots.

Our highest winning rink was achieved by Sue Scarfe, Steve Church and Captain John Gilbey.

All in all the match was played in a very friendly atmosphere and I hope that we are able to include a return fixture next season.
Well that concludes our friendly fixtures for 2026 in what has been a successful year but with mixed results affected by the exceptionally high temperatures in a record breaking hot summer.
