We travelled the short distance to Buckingham West End on Sunday 26th April to their club on the banks of the Great Ouse. Once again the weather was very kind with a partly cloudy but warm afternoon.
Bucks W.E. provided its usual friendly and welcoming atmosphere, except where the bowling was concerned. They outplayed us, so that we lost on 5 of the 6 rinks.
The only bright spot was Tony Lawrence’s last bowl which saw him taking 4 shots from the final end to become our only winning rink by 3 shots overall. He was ably assisted by Richard Russell and Diana Bonham.
We all enjoyed a generous buffet and a drink from the bar.
